The runic letters in the pattern can be found on the Eidsvåg stone. The Eidsvåg stone is a ten feet tall bauta discovered on Vollane in Eidsvåg, just north of the city of Bergen in Norway, in 1901 during av clearing of the fields. Archaeologists were called in and excavated the large runestone that marked a fire pit from the Early Iron Age (150 - 500 AD) surrounded by a circle of pebbles. The runes say HaoaRaR, which may mean “the moving one” and can refer to that the person buried here was a shaman, and thus could move between worlds; physical and spiritual, past, present and future. Those who claimed such abilities had leading roles in the community, and the area on Vollane could have been a political and religious center in the local community. The Eidsvåg stone can be seen at the historical museum at the University of Bergen.

Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to under arms, then joined toghether to work the yoke in the round. Rounds begins on left side of the body. On the yoke, rounds starts in the transition between the body and the sleeve.

The runes are both sounds and and pictogram.
ᚺ is H and means hail
ᚨ is A and means god
ᛟ is O and means inheritance

A number of archaeological finds have been made on Vollane, and indicates Stone Age settlements, Iron Age farming and a hub for traffic between east and west for thousands of years.
