This crochet pattern is for a classic Happi Jacket style shrug. It features an oversized body section which drapes off the shoulder. The arms are three quarter length and very baggy, allowing them to hang without getting in the way.

The main body of the shrug is in a brick pattern, achieved with front post and back post crochet stitches. The instructions are for a two-colour shrug, although it would be possible to make the item with just one colour.

The shrug body is made in one piece, with arms crocheted on directly to body.

The instructions include lots of detail, including photographs to help with stitch placement and shaping.

I have listed this pattern as “intermediate” because of shaping.
