I was so happy making this blanket that I’ve called it Happy Blanket. It is very easy once you’ve got the hang of it and then the only work is deciding which two yarns to add next.

I did it with a sock yarn, but you could happily use a DK and get a slightly thicker blanket for less work. I think it really works using a medium run colour change yarn - it makes each square really lively and adds to the happiness of making it massively. But if you found a lovely collection of colours that also make you happy - use them!

This is my first written pattern - please let me know if there are any mistakes or ambiguities and I’ll try and sort them out.

Thanks to novembre for italian translation.
