Happy Hedgehog
Happy Hedgehog crochet pattern- small, soft, and quick to make!
Materials needed:
- Yarn in color of choice for head, feet, and ears
- Yarn in color of choice for back
- Scissors
- Stuffing
- 7mm safety eyes
- Embroidery needle
- Black embroidery thread
- An appropriate sized hook for the yarn you have chosen (I used a 4mm hook)
Stitches used: (U.S. terminology)
- Single crochet (sc)
- Half double crochet (hdc)
- Chain (ch)
- Slip stitch (slp-st)
- Increase (inc)
- Decrease (dec)
- Magic Ring
An easier version of the loop stitch is used to crochet the back of the hedgehog. The pattern gives detailed instructions for this. (The pattern also includes alternative options for this loop technique if you cannot manage it.)
For this pattern, I used Hobbii “Honey Bunny” yarn.
Intermediate level crocheters
This is an easy pattern for intermediate crocheters, some may find the loops stitches used to make the back tricky.
Very Low-Sew
The ears are sewn to the head.
Please leave a ‘project’ of your hedgehog and a picture when you’ve finished! I would love to see it!
Enjoy!
