The Happy Home Mug Rugs pattern makes four knitted ‘mug rug’ coasters (a heart, a house, an umbrella and a duck). These patterns are designed as a way to use up your leftover yarn from bigger projects!

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS: Approximately 75 stitches of double-stranded loop yarn, for EACH mug rug (each rug is 73 stitches, plus a bit extra to cut open loops and tie off your ends) (Rugs in the sample image are using Alize Puffy More in the colours 6264, 6271 and 6263).

SUGGESTED TOOLS: No knitting needles required (finger knitting). Scissors. (Because the loops of this product are quite small, you may find it easier to use a crochet hook than your fingers. I use a US J10/6 mm hook).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm).

PLEASE NOTE: Alize Puffy More is a double-stranded yarn which is manufactured in a way to create double-sided colourwork patterns.

Currently, the only substitute for this yarn is Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ Graph It yarn, a new product soon to be available in North America. This new yarn will come in larger skeins, so you will need approximately 15% fewer skeins to complete this project as-is.
