Happy Pumpkins Maxine
Happy Pumpkins start as one simple rectangle – and end as cozy autumn decoration you will want to make again and again.
Crochet a rectangle in half double crochet in the back loop only, join the first and last row with a slip stitch seam, pull one end tight with the yarn tail, stuff the pumpkin and close the other end the same way. Add a little stem, and your pumpkin is ready. There is no 3D shaping and no increasing in the body, so it is a lovely first project for beginners.
** Why you’ll love it**
• Free 10-page PDF with written instructions and a photo tutorial showing the stitches, stuffing and seaming
• Perfect for beginners: clear, easy-to-follow instructions for four pumpkins in four sizes
• Complete materials list with measurements, stitch counts, yarn weight, amount needed and hook size for every pumpkin – special stitches are explained
• A size table with starting chains, stitches, rows, rectangle size and yarn amounts
• Stems for every size, including the XL Big Guy stem
• Ideal seasonal project for autumn and Halloween home styling
• Written in English (US crochet terms) – German version available
** You get four sizes in one pattern**
• Small (about 6 cm / 2⅜ in) and Middle (about 8 cm / 3⅛ in) in DK cotton
• Large (about 17 cm / 6¾ in) and XL Big Guy (about 31 cm / 12¼ in) in super bulky velvet yarn
** Yarn**
• Hobbii Baby Snuggle for the big pumpkins: 4–5 balls in different colors, 6 mm hook
• Deramores Studio Cotton DK for the small pumpkins: 3 balls, 3.5 or 4 mm hook
** You also need**
