Happy Scrappy Mitts are worked from the wrist to fingers with a thumb gusset. This pattern came about because I wanted to use every inch of my Rainbow Felici but didn’t have enough for another pair of socks or complete pair of mitts. You can use any number of leftover sock yarns for this pattern. The below yarn amounts are a breakdown of the yarns I used in my mitts. These mitts can be worked two at a time and should fit hands with a palm circumference of 18-22 cm/7-8.5 inches.

Materials and Tools

  • 160-180m/175-200yds total fingering weight yarn:
  • C1: 70m/75yds solid coloured fingering weight yarn, more if you want a longer cuff
  • C2: 95m/105yds self-striping fingering weight yarn
  • US1/2.25mm needles for knitting in the round (dpns or circulars)
  • 2-4 stitch markers
  • scrap yarn or stitch holder
