In English:

Happy yoga butterflies are a pair of socks to make your yoga moments even more delightful. But you do not need to start yoga lessons to wear these socks! Just enjoy knitting and wearing whenever you want to feel as light as a butterfly!

I originally designed these socks for a competition organized by a Finnish yarn company Novita. Happy yoga butterflies was awarded with a honorable mention and Novita published the pattern in Finnish in their web page. The pattern is available for free (but only in Finnish), if you just follow the link. I have now written my own version of the pattern in English. It is not exactly the same, but a bit extended version of the pattern with more photos and details to make it as easy as possible to understand the construction of these unconventional socks. Even though the socks are knitted quite differently compared to any ordinary socks, the knitting is quite easy, if you just follow the instructions. I used several days to write the English version and it is not free, but i still kept the price very low.

Size
One size - Adjustable to any size
If you knit the socks exactly according to instructions and to match the recommended gauge, the finished sock will measure:
Length of the sock leg: 40 cm
Calf circumference (unstretched) 34 cm
Ankle circumference (unstretched) 22 cm
You can adjust the sock circumference by knitting either fewer or more rows to the sock leg (there are instructions for that in the english version of pattern). If you make the sock leg bigger, you need more yarn. 100 g of green yarn is only enough for a pair of socks with measurements mentioned above.

Yarn
Green: Novita Majakkasaari (DK weight: 100 g = 225 m), colour 831 merilevä, 100 g
Pink: Novita Majakkasaari (DK weight: 100 g = 225 m), colour 850 merihevonen, 60 g
Black: Novita Nalle (Sport weight: 100 g = 260 m), colour 099 noki, 40 g

Gauge
24 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm in stockinette stitch using bigger needles and DK weight yarn

Needles
3 mm or others to obtain gauge.
Set of five 2,5 mm double-pointed needles for the ribbing.
You will also need a crochet hook (2,5 mm), a darning needle and about 1,5 meter of elastic sewing thread (= super thin rubber band).

Suomeksi:
