My take on the classic, wool, work sock, but knit with fingering weight yarn, using the toe-up Magic Loop method.

Materials:
Northbound Knitting Merino/Nylon Fingering:
Colour A - Kitten: 350 (375, 400) yards
Colour B - Blank: 100 (120, 140) yards
Colour C - Scarlet: 50 (70, 90) yards
Size US 1 needles (circulars with a 32” cable for Magic Loop)
Tapestry needle
Stitch markers

Gauge:
8 sts = 1” in stockinette stitch

Sizes:
Small - 7” circumference around ball of foot.
Medium - 8” circumference around ball of foot.
Large - 9” circumference around ball of foot.

Length - Adjust to fit.

Abbreviations Used:
St(s) = Stitch(es)
K = Knit
P = Purl
RS = Right side
WS = Wrong side
Kf&b=Knit into the front and back of same stitch
Pm=Place marker
M=Marker
Sm=Slip marker
M1L=With left needle tip, lift strand between sts from front to back, knit into back of loop
M1R=With left needle tip, lift strand between sts from back to front, knit into front of loop
W&T=Wrap and Turn-Bring yarn to the front, slip one stitch from left hand needle to right, bring yarn to the back and slip stitch back to left hand needle. Turn work and bring yarn to the back. (Or W&T method of your preference.)
SSk = Slip 2 stitches knitwise one at a time & knit together through the back loop
P2tog = Purl two stitches together as one
K2tog= Knit two stitches together as one
