Harlequin Gambit is a reversible triangle scarf with Harlequin diamonds on one face and a Checkmate grid on the other. Worked side to side in two-pattern double knitting, it brings two independent geometric designs together in one fabric, finished with 3-stitch i-cord edges.

PATTERN FORMAT
English PDF knitting pattern with written construction and finishing instructions, a full digital chart and an A4 printable chart pack. This listing describes the combined Side A + Side B edition. Side A-only and Side B-only editions are separate variations.

FINISHED SIZE
One size: approximately 112 cm across the top edge and 37 cm at the centre, excluding the added i-cord. These are gauge-based estimates; finished measurements vary with yarn, tension and blocking.

YARN REQUIRED
Main colour: Qing Fibre Dashing Fingering, Hush, 100 g / 400 m (2 x 50 g hanks), held together with King Cole Cosmos, Lunar 1097, 25 g / 393 m (1 skein).
Contrast colour: Qing Fibre Dashing Fingering, Guardian, 100 g / 400 m (2 x 50 g hanks).
Amounts include allowance for swatching and finishing. Total yarn across all three strands is 1,193 m; the Cosmos strand is held with Hush, not used as a separate colour.

GAUGE
22 stitch pairs x 29 rows per 10 cm after blocking in double knitting on 3.5 mm needles. Each pair contains one stitch for each face, so 22 pairs are 44 stitches in total.

NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, 40 to 100 cm cable; crochet hook and smooth waste yarn for the provisional cast-on; yarn guide (optional); tapestry needle; blocking supplies.

TECHNIQUES
Two-pattern double knitting; following separate charts for the two faces; paired increases and decreases; provisional crochet cast-on; 3-stitch i-cord edges; centred point bind-off; wet blocking.
