The Harriet’s Cowl is a beautiful design, which is both reversible and versatile. Knitted in the round with a steek up the centre, it is finished with a mattress stitch joining side A and Side B together before adding toggle buttons and loops allowing for an as yet unknown number of style choices.

We’ve included a few style options in the attached photos but there are many more.

All proceeds from this, and Harriet’s other patterns, go directly to the Shetland MRI Scanner Appeal which aims to provide the Shetland Islands with a scanner of it’s own hence eliminating a long uncomfortable journey, often in great pain and emotional distress.

The cowl matches nicely the Harriet’s Hat, Harriet’s Headband, Harriet’s gloves and Harriet’s mittens designs as a third item in a set. It would make an excellent gift for someone either as a finished cowl you’ve made for them, or in a kit as a project for a knitting enthusiast.

The pattern includes a key for both Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift yarn and Jamieson and Smith’s 2ply jumper weight equivalents. Included in the pictures, the key shows in brackets how many 25g balls of each required of each shade. This is a guide, but remember different yarn types vary as much as the knitters style/technique.
