• Yarn of your choice in 2 colours (I used 3 weight acrylic in crimson and 2-3 weight cotton/acrylic blend in gold for Gryffindor)
• Crochet hook to suit your yarn (I used 3mm)
• Darning needle (optional)
• Scissors
• Measuring tape (optional)
• Larger crochet hook for tassel-making

Stitches/techniques:

• Slip knot onto hook
• Making a chain
• Double crochet (DC)
• Double crochet 2 together (DC 2 tog.)
• Half double crochet (HDC)
• Half double crochet 2 together (HDC 2 tog.)
• Working into the 3rd loop of a chain (optional)
• Weaving in ends (optional)
• Making and adding tassels (optional)
