Harry’s not fussy about his clothes; he’s got too many other pressing things going on in his life like studying for his herbology class, practicing quidditch, finding horcruxes, among other things. Obviously, fancy-schmancy socks are not his bailiwick so I’ve designed these easy to knit and wear socks with a subtle reference to the young wizard’s iconic lightning shaped scar.

The pattern is given in both chart and written formats. Four sizes are offered, the pictured sock was knit in the large size which fit a women’s size 10 and a men’s 11 perfectly.

Knit cuff down with a traditional heel flap, these easy socks feature garter stitch lightning bolts from cuff to toe for some subtle textural interest. Contrasting cuffs and toes add a touch of sophistication but are not mandatory. This pattern is appropriate for a beginner who has made at least one pair of socks. Expert knitters will find the pattern interesting as well (good TV knitting!), and it should be a quick knit for them.

Yarn recommendations: I recommend solid colored or only lightly tonal or speckled yarns for the main color or the textural patterns will not be evident.
