Haru Beret
Haru means spring in Japanese - in this pattern you will find instructions for knitting a classic, elegant beret with a soft rounded shape and light volume. The beret is worked top-down in the round from the crown; the volume is shaped with scattered increases, then decreases are worked to match the head circumference. The brim is finished with ribbing and a tubular bind-off.
Sizes (head circumference):
Size 1 - 50-52 cm
Size 2 - 54-56 cm
Size 3 - 57-59 cm
Size 4 - 60 cm
Beret diameter:
Sizes 1-2 - 25 cm
Sizes 3-4 - 27 cm
Yarn:
Sandnes Garn Atlas (70% wool, 30% merino wool), 108 m/50 g
Yarn usage (including swatch):
Size 1 - 1 skein
Sizes 2, 3, 4 - 2 skeins
Gauge:
20 sts x 26 rnds = 10 x 10 cm stockinette stitch
Needles and notions:
Circular needles with a long cable 80-100 cm (for Magic Loop),
4.0 mm - main needle,
3.5 mm - for ribbing,
9 stitch markers,
Tapestry needle,
Scissors.
