These patterns were designed with the fall harvest and Thanksgiving in mind. They look much harder than they are, and are a little addictive. And enough interest not to be boring! Each cloth takes about 50g of fingering….but you can use any weight yarn.

Both charts and written are included for both versions.

I suggest that you “size up” your needle selections, the braid tends to knit up tightly.

The first cloth features a variation of a Saxon Braid, with wheat ears and twists on the sides,

The second cloth has the basketweave variation in the middle.

I think either---or both-- would make a great gift with a loaf of bread at any time of year. Braid for holidays, and basketweave for everyday.

I am extremely thankful to Peacockmom, for her wonderful knitting skills, her undying attention to detail & proof reading, and, most of all, her encouragement and friendship.

Enjoy the pattern.
