The beautiful “chain of hearts” on the border of the hat is shaped with simple cables. The two-color stripe above the border is made with elongated slipped stitches. The pattern includes pictures illustrating the technique with the slipped stitches, it’s very easy to knit.

The border is made sideways, then stitches are picked up and the top is knitted in the round.

The hat requires some sewing (to join the cast on and bound off edges of the border).
