When machine knitting hats, we often gather up the top, as it is an easy way to bind off when we knit from the brim to the crown. This hat uses needles in hold to knit each section of the crown with decreases, and results in a more fitted look.

Any type of colorwork can be added to the second half of the brim of this hat to take it to the next level.
