The Hatch Socks are named to represent the intersection of a fracture and a beginning – the moment something becomes tangible, the breathtaking transition from a silent maybe to what is. Much like an egg hatches to release new life, an artist uses their hands to create depth out of nothing. One creates dimension through repetition; the other creates existence through persistence. The Hatch: A line drawn, a shell cracked; the precise moment where shadow finds its shape and the heart finds its beat.

Required Materials

Yarn: DK weight yarn or fingering weight yarn held double (any DK weight yarn, at any price point, can be substituted so long as gauge is met).
Sample Yarn: Snug & Spun Fiber Co Merino Twist Sock (394 yd. / 100 g per skein – held double to achieve a DK weight gauge) – 1 - 2 skeins. Most socks can be knit using just 100g of yarn, however, depending on the size you are making and the length of foot you are accommodating, you may need more than 100g. For example, a tester for the size large made their socks to fit a US men’s size 9 and used approximately 120g of yarn. If you are concerned about not having enough yarn, consider using a mini-skein or scrap yarn for a contrasting heel, cuff, and/or toe.
Colorway: Dewdrops

Needles: Size US 3 (3.25mm)
Notions: 2 contrasting stitch markers and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: Approximately 6 stitches and 8 rows per inch in stockinette

Sizes: Socks are sized for an Adult Small (Medium, and Large).
