I believe everyone can agree that life has changed tremendously since the Covid 19 pandemic started and that 2020 was a rough year for everyone. That being said I felt the need to create a Prayer Shawl which I’ve designed myself and I’ve named it Healed By His Stripes. This pattern has Bible related themes incorporated into the design.

I feel like I was inspired by God to create this pattern to share with others in hopes to lead others to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. To cover ourselves and pray and heal during these difficult times and draw closer in our walk with God.

This pattern doesn’t really have a guage.
Finished sizes will vary depending on hook size used, tension and yarn type.
I purchased 1 skein of white red heart 7 ounce and 1 red heart super saver 14 ounce skein for this project. (It’s always best to have extra in case you decide to add fringes)

The Blue Prayer Shawl pictured was made using Redheart yarn. The Purple one was not made with Redheart. I just wanted to illustrate two different yarns used.

Supplies:
Size N - 9mm Crochet Hook
1 - 8 ounce skein redheart super saver for trim
1 - 14 ounce skein redheart jumbo 14 ounce (if you intend to add extra rows to increase the length or if you’d like to add fringes you will need an extra skein to allow for this!)
Yarn needle for sewing in the ends.

Abbreviation:
Ch - Chain
Sk - Skip
Hdc- Half Double Crochet
Dc - Double Crochet
Cross stitch (cable stitch)- (worked by skipping 3 stitches, working 3 Triple crochets, going back to the stitches skipped and working 3 triple crochets from right to left) (you are basically making an “X” ) ✝️
I didn’t use abbreviations. I wrote it all out to help beginners learn. The abbreviations are to familiarize the beginner with crochet terminology for future reference.
