Heart of a Snowflake
Materials
• Any yarn weight
• 4 dpns in size recommended for the yarn
• circular needle in corresponding size
• Tapestry needle (for weaving in the ends)
• small stitch holders (if not using circular needle)
Notes
-
Size will vary depending on yarn and needles chosen.
-
Lacy points: The points of this snowflake are formed by a series of cast ons/bind offs, otherwise known as picots.
-
Stiffening: Block out your finished snowflake. You will also need to stiffen it if you want to use it as a hanging ornament. Use any stiffener you prefer.
-
Note on Rnd 10: Round 10 is a bind off round that shapes the legs (points) of the snowflake. In this round, after binding off the required number of stitches always REMEMBER to place the stitch from RH needle back to LH needle before casting on new stitches.
