When you purchase this pattern, you receive instructions for both layers. There is only one size. To meet gauge, ch 18, sc in second st from hook and in each st across. Do rows of sc for a total of 19 rows. Square should be 4”X4”. You can use any colors of your choice. You can use any 4-weight yarn but if you would like your potholder to be functional, I suggest using 100% cotton yarn.
