Heart Sideways Tank is the third of a set of essential summer tanks I have designed with a fun sideways construction. Heart is knit all in one piece, – even the straps! – for a stylish and comfortable tank. Starting with a provisional cast on under one arm, you work your way across the tank sideways, and end with a graft on the other side. Subtle shaping on the hems, garter details and fun short row sections keep your attention throughout this quick knit. You can choose how much ease you would like it to have – with easy mods detailed in the pattern. Because of the small details, I would recommend this pattern for advanced beginners onwards.

Sizes:

Sizing is flexible with full instructions on how to alter the fit of your project top suit you.
Standard bust sizes are as follows:
73 (82, 93, 102, 111)(121, 130, 141, 151) cm
28.75 (32.25, 36.5, 40.25, 43.75)(47.5, 51.25, 55.5, 59.5) “
Recommended positive ease: 0 - 11cm / 0 - 4.25”

Actual garment bust measurements:
84 (93, 104, 446, 458)(134, 145, 155, 166) cm
33 (36.5, 40.5, 44.5, 49.25)(52.75, 57, 61, 65.25)

Yarn:

Weight: Approximately 150 (170, 200, 220, 250)(280, 310, 340, 370) grams of yarn.

Meters/yards: Approximately 360 (450, 540, 660, 800)(970, 1200, 1500, 1850) meters / 395 (500, 595, 725, 880)(1065, 1315, 1645, 2025) yards.

Recommended yarn: Single ply fingering weight yarn held together with one strand of 2ply lace yarn (or single ply lace at a weight of 800m/100g) to create a rustic bouncy fabric. Alternatively you may use two strands of ordinary lace weight yarn, a sport weight yarn or a different combination that gives you gauge. Please note the cellulose fibres and plied yarns give more drape and a more fitted, less “blousey” look.

Tools:

Set of minimum 120cm long circular needles used to obtain gauge.
Crochet hook in similar size to needle used to obtain gauge.
Some scrap yarn for the provisional cast on.
Two stitch markers and one removable marker.
Darning needle to work in ends.
