This hat is worked from the bottom up in super bulky yarn. It takes about an hour to make so it’s quick and easy!

The pattern is suggested for an Intermediate crocheter because of the transition to the colored hearts and carrying the yarn behind the stitches, but it really isn’t very hard once you get the hang of it. Photo tutorial for the color change is included.

The hat begins with short rows worked for the brim and this is sewn together with the hat being worked in the round, upwards from there.

The hat is, then, embellished with a chained detail and flower. Instructions included for these and for a handmade pompom as well.

The finished hat fits somewhat loosely to the head. If you were to use a bulkier yarn that Hometown USA (ie, Wool Ease Thick & Quick), I’d suggest going down a hook size to ensure that the hat doesn’t turn out too big.
