I first crocheted this shawl with Lion Brand Heartland yarn, thus the name, but that felt too heavy for me. So I did it again in fingering weight yarn, and the resulting fabric is lovely and has lots of drape. Clearly, I made a good choice!

Heartland can be worked in a single color, in chunks of color (as pictured) or in even stripes. It all depends on what you prefer to do. The two-row repeat is easy to remember, making this a great shawl to work on while watching TV--easy to put down and pick back up at a later date. Plus, the tall stitches make it work up really fast. You could easily make one over the weekend if you needed an emergency gift for someone.

Items made from my patterns are intended for personal use, sale, or world domination--as long as I get a parking space wherever I want once the world is yours.
