Stitched With Love …

A textured path to cosy comfort.

A bold yet versatile colourwork design that plays with contrast and intention.

A repeating heart motif runs through the body, while a corrugated ribbed brim creates clean, graphic lines leading up to the hearts – a quiet reference to the idea of connection.

Slouchy or close fitting. You decide.

You can make this as loud or as subtle as you desire. The Heartline Beanie invites experimentation with colour. High contrast combinations will make the motif sing, while low contrast or tonal choices allow the structure to take centre stage.

Worked in the round with handy progress boxes, so you can keep a visual track of where you are.

Fully written or charted instructions.

I have formatted this pattern in such a way that you should only need to print the pages for your preferred size (if you prefer to use a hard copy when knitting).

Saving the planet one unprinted page at a time.

Skills Used …

  • Loose, long tail cast on.
  • Knit and purl stitches.
  • Stranded colourwork (video link provided)
  • Decreasing (K2TOG, K2TOGtbl).

You will need the following …

  • DK : Two contrasting colours Small/Medium ~ approx. 40g/30g
    Medium/Large ~ approx. 50g/40g
  • 3.5 & 4mm* 40cm circulars.
  • 4mm dpns for working the crown (or longer cable and magic loop).
  • 6/7 stitch markers and 1 BOR marker.
  • Tapestry needle (the sewing those dreaded ends in).

(Or size required to obtain gauge)

Gauge and Size …

22 stitches and 28 rows over 10cm (4 inches) using 4mm needles in stocking stitch (in the round).
If you get more stitches/rows than me go with larger needles than noted and if you get less, go smaller.

Measurements (when unblocked and laid flat) :

SMALL/MEDIUM Width (brim) 7.5 in - Width (body) 8.5 in - Height 8.5 in

MEDIUM/LARGE Width (brim) 9 in - Width (body) 10 in - Height 10 in

I have a 22 inch head the larger one is perfect for me as I like a bit of slouch.

I can’t wait to see your beanie so please do be sure to start a project page or tag me on Instagram and Facebook (#HeartlineBeanie @beanieboatdesigns).

If you like the look of this pattern it would be a huge help to me if you would give it a ‘like’ here on Ravelry. Your support of my little dream is so appreciated. Every ‘like’ helps and it’s a known fact I do a tiny happy dance each time I get a notification. I am a terrible dancer!
