Heavenly Geometry

Heavenly Geometry is a top-down lace crochet hat featuring a geometric pattern of diamond motifs formed with double crochet stitches and chain spaces. The stitch pattern is repetitive, easy to read, and uses only basic crochet stitches, making it an approachable project for beginners.

Pattern Information

• Written crochet pattern in English (US Terms)
• Crochet stitch chart / symbol diagram
• Step-by-step written instructions
• Gauge information

Skill Level: Easy

Only basic stitches are used throughout the pattern:

• chain
• slip stitch
• single crochet
• double crochet

Yarn

The sample was made with YarnArt Begonia (100% cotton, fingering weight) and a 2 mm crochet hook.

The pattern also works well with Schachenmayr Catania Fine Solids and Hobbii Friends Cotton 8/4 Solids.

If your gauge differs, you can adjust the finished size by using a slightly finer or thicker yarn or by changing the hook size.

Gauge

3 × 3 inches (7.5 × 7.5 cm) = 18 dc × 8 rounds

Finished Size

At the stated gauge, the finished hat measures approximately:

• 22 inches (56 cm) circumference
• 7 to 8 inches (18 to 20 cm) depth

Since the hat is worked from the crown downward, the length can easily be adjusted to your preference.

Construction

• Worked from the top down
• Geometric diamond lace pattern
• Lightweight mesh fabric
• Adjustable length
• Fitted adult beanie
