Cute little hedgehog hot water bottle cover, warm and cosy
Designed to fit a standard 2 litre hot water bottle.
This is knitted mostly all in one piece, apart from the small section at the back that forms the envelope opening, and the ribbed funnel.
It’s very easy, it just folds into place and you sew the side seams.
A great little pattern if you are new to intarsia knitting, and this would make a charming little hand made gift.
You will only need one 100g ball of stylecraft Special Chunky for this, some beige or cream yarn for the face, and some brown tweedy yarn for the prickles, I’ve used a 50g ball of Stylecrafts Nature’s Way.

There is a little finishing off by hand sewing.
You will need a very small amount of black or dark brown for the nose, eye and mouth, and some darker beige or brown yarn to sew on an ear and two legs.

Tension:
14 stitches x 20 rows= 4 inches/10 cm. on 6mm/n0.10 knitting needles
