The Hedy Cardi is named after Hedy Lamarr, a Hollywood icon and the brilliant inventor behind the technology that later became Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Just like her namesake, this long-sleeved cardigan is equal parts glamorous and unexpectedly clever. With its classic crew neck, regular fit, and button front, it’s the kind of cardigan you reach for every single day. The 1x1 ribbing at the hem, cuffs and neckline gives it clean, polished edges, while the tweed yarn adds a rich texture that makes it feel truly unique.

The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. You begin by knitting the back piece, before picking up stitches for each shoulder separately and shaping the neckline opening with increases. The front and back pieces are joined under the armhole, and the body is worked back and forth in stockinette. The sleeves are worked top down by picking up stitches around the armhole. The button band and neckline ribbing are worked by picking up stitches along the front edges and the cast-on edge.
