Intended for a relatively unconfident or inexperienced knitter, this bobble hat is knitted flat on straight needles and seamed. The simple 2 x 2 ribbed pattern is made more interesting with a 22 stitch cable pattern running up the front.

The rib pattern allows for a lot of stretc and will snuggly fit an average woman’s head (22” circumference. For a larger size, I suggest trying a larger needle, or casting on 104st, adding an extra 4 rib stitches at either side of the panel.

I find chunky yarns vary enormously in thickness, so I recommend knitting a tension square and adjusting your needle accordingly, to ensure that the sizing remains correct.

The model was knit using 3 balls of Sandnes Garn Alfa, which includes enough to make a medim sized pompom.
