Heidiʼs summer vest is worked seamlessly top down. You start using German short rows to shape the back into a trapezoid for a flattering shoulder fit. Increases are worked for the armholes and then the stitches are put on hold while you pick up and knit stitches for the front panels. German short rows are used again to guide the front panels in a straight direction. Then increases are worked for the neckline and armholes. Once both front panels are complete, they are joined with the back, underarm stitches are cast on, and the body is worked flat to your desired length. The top is finished with crochet edging all around and i-cord ties.
