I designed this bag as a keepsake for a bride. Making this as a gift for someone’s wedding would make it so much more special, creating a personal heirloom that could be kept for many years to come or even passed on through the generations. I love the idea that a piece can become it’s own little personal history in the same tradition as a family christening gown.

The style of the bag is based on the Gladstone Bag one of my all time favourite bags and is embellsihed with Swarovski pearls and a pretty flower brooch, giving it an elegant vintage feel.

THe design itself is fairly straightforward and would suit someone with some experience of knitting to accommodate the construction, some sewing is required too (making the lining to the bag).

This has been a very popular design over the years and has made many happy wedding days.

The design requires two balls of Cotton Glace or just one ball of Patons 100% Cotton DK to complete and could be completed over a weekend.
