The Heirloom Keyhole Scarf is knit flat in garter stitch with a simultaneously worked i-cord edge. The vintage-style keyhole detail keeps this scarf wrapped securely. Using worsted weight yarn means the scarf knits up quickly, and the simplicity of this pattern means it works well when you want to show off the texture or colour of yarn.

YARN REQUIREMENT

110 m 120 yds of worsted weight yarn; 100% wool, 192 m 210 yds / 100 g.

For the pictured sample, I used Malabrigo Washted in colourway Pearl. Substitute with any worsted weight yarn.

GAUGE

Unblocked swatch of 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in in garter stitch = 19 sts x 32 rows. With the i-cord selvedge, the completed scarf will be approx. 10 cm 4 in wide with 22 sts on the needle at the widest point.

NEEDLES

Single point needles in size 4.5 mm US 7. Needle size is a suggestion: you may wish to use a slightly different size in order to meet the gauge.
