A textured basketweave pattern decorates the back of these mitts. Using just a small amount of double knit yarn these are quick to knit and will keep hands warm in chilly weather.

Yarn: 60 (70, 80) g double knit weight yarn, approximately 220 m per 100 g.
Shown in: Hooligan yarns Cindy and Spice Corriedale/alpaca blend in fawn; DK; 100% wool; 165 m / 181 yds per 100 g.

Needles: 4.0 mm / US 6 double pointed needles or circular needle(s) for working in the round on a small circumference, 60 cm / 24” length suggested.

Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers, safety pins or waste yarn for holding stitches.

Skills: Cast on, working in the round, knit, purl, increasing stitches, picking up stitches, cast off, weaving in ends.

Gauge: 21 sts and 30 rows over 10 cm / 4” in stocking stitch after blocking.

Sizing: Pattern gives stitch counts for small (medium, large) adult hand size, approximately equivalent to a finished palm circumference of 17 (19, 21) cm / 6 ¾ (7 ½, 8 ¼)”. Choose a size a little smaller than your palm measurement for a snug fit.
