Overview
The Helena Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up with an all over cable pattern across the body of the hat. The brim of the hat is worked in 2x2 rib. You then move on to working cables. The crown is shaped using decreases incorporated into the cable pattern. The finished hat fits fairly close to the head with only a little bit of slack at the tip.

Sizes
One size

Measurements
To fit a head between 44-56cm.

Yarn
I used Sandnes Garn Sunday held double, which results in a light DK/ sport.
You’ll need 470m if using fingering yarn held double or 235m if using a DK yarn.

A little note on the yarn:
Sandnes garn Sunday is definitely on the light side for a fingering. Holding a regular fingering double will probably result in the gauge being off. I suggest holding it with a strand of mohair or other lace yarn instead.

Needles
-3mm needles for the ribbing
-3.5mm needles for the cabled section
Cable between 40-50cm or long enough for magic loop.

Notions
-stitch markers

Gauge
30 stitches and 40 rows over 10cm in 2x2 ribbing. Recommended needles 3mm.
