Stripes made easy.

The Helifun Cowl is a simple two colour cowl that can be worked up in just a few hours and is tv knitting at it’s finest.

This is a close fit cowl (or neck-warmer if you prefer).

You will be working in the round. No fancy stitches but you will be using a helical knitting technique which enables a smooth look with no ‘stripe jog’.

Written in full with handy progress check boxes, so you can keep a visual track of where you are.

I have formatted this pattern in such a way that you should only need to print page 3 (if you prefer to use a hard copy when knitting).

Saving the planet one unprinted page at a time.

You will need the following :

Chunky yarn : Colour A 50g and Colour B 50g.

6mm 40cm or longer with magic loop (or size required to obtain gauge).

Beginning of round marker.

Tapestry needle (for sewing those dreaded ends in).

Gauge and Size

6mm : 14 stitches and 15 rows (4 inch / 10 cm stocking stitch in the round).

Blocking is not essential for this cowl but it will make the edges lay flat (and not flare out) if you at least spray lightly and lay it flat to dry for a few hours.

Measurements when unblocked and laid flat : Width : 10.5 inches (26.5 cm) Height : 9 inches (23cm)

I can’t wait to see your cowl so please do be sure to start a project page or tag me on Instagram and Facebook (#HeliFunCowl @beanieboat).

If you like the look of this pattern it would be a huge help to me if you would give it a like as I have an overflowing notebook of ideas and this helps me understand what to work on next. Your support of my little dream is so appreciated. Every ‘like’ helps and it’s a known fact I do a tiny happy dance each time I get a notification. I am a terrible dancer!
