The HEMLOCK Pullover is a carefree, casual sweater; comfortably oversized and with roomy sleeves - a no-fuss-sweater you’ll love to throw on just like your favorite sweatshirt. The design combines the best of two worlds: easy, mindless stockinette knitting and bold, unusual cables. It has a fun and interesting construction, but is still easy & relaxing to knit. Worked in De Rerum Natura’s lovely Ulysee yarn, it’s lightweight and cozy, but not too warm. Sportsweight yarn is perfect for all seasons and the casual, relaxed fit will make HEMLOCK a favorite addition to your wardrobe.

It is worked seamlessly from the top down, beginning with a ribbed neckband with a few double-knit rounds that give it structure and a special look. Shoulder bands for the saddle shoulders are worked flat from neckband stitches and then stitches are picked up along the edges of the shoulder bands for the back and front. Shoulders and neckline are shaped with short rows for better fit. Back and front are worked flat separately to the underarm, then joined and worked circularly to the bottom hem. Finally, sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round slightly tapered to the cuffs. There is minimal finishing if at all and besides a few ends to weave in, the sweater is ready to wear!

The cable pattern of the HEMLOCK Pullover is easy to memorize, after the first repeat you basically don’t need to look at the chart or written instructions anymore. You can simply focus on enjoying your precious knitting time.

The pattern includes both written and charted directions.
