INTRO

This hat was designed to be part of a bundle with the Herbaceous pullover. The stretchy folded brim is worked in a faded rib, an element borrowed from the ribbing of Herbaceous. The main area of the hat is worked in staggered knot stitches, which are used in the body of Herbaceous. Symbolic of the buds of various herbs, these knot stitches offer a delicate texture that is like a small bobble, only easier to work.

Stockinette with staggered knot stitches: 27 sts and 40 rnds = 4 in / 10cm

NEEDLES

US 3 / 3.25 mm circular needles, 12 in / 30 cm long for working in the round or at least 32 in / 80 cm long if using magic loop; DPNs for the crown if not using magic loop

Pattern uses Ritual Dyes Maiden, 2-ply twist fingering weight blend of 80% superwash Merino and 20% nylon, 100g / 400 yds / 365 m per skein
