This sweater is a tribute to my grandmother Hermínia.
She was a woman with golden hands. Everything she did was a perfection, and I grew up clinging to her skirts, eager to learn to do everything like her. And she had infinite patience to teach.
I also owe my first literary education and love for books to her. She was the one who, from the library at home, chose for me the books she considered most suitable. And there was no mistake – I had to read all the Portuguese classics first before venturing to other ports.
The first sweater I made, guided by her, was a summer sweater with elongated stitches, which I now reuse in a cross version.
