I was so excited when I started knitting with syncopated brioche. The way it can alternate the dominant color to create different patterns feels so satisfying. This design grew out of that experimentation. The four-row repeat is easy to memorize, striking that sweet spot between keeping your interest and letting you settle into a relaxing rhythm once it clicks.

This scarf is one size, 20.5 x 162.5 cm (8 x 64 in) but you can easily continue to knit in pattern or stop aerly to obtain a desired length.

Gauge:
23 stitches x 20 rows = 10 cm (4 in) in syncopated herringbone on smaller needles, after blocking.

Materials:
Yarn: DK weight yarn, Santi by Illimani which is 45% merino, 25% alpaca, 15% yak, and 15% silk. This is an 11 wpi yarn that has 125 m/137 yd per 50 g/1.76 ounces skein. You will need the following:
DC: Burgundy, 2 skeins, 250 m/274 yd
LC: Seafoam, 2 skeins, 250 m/274 yd

Almost all of the skeins were used to get the finished measurement, so you may want to consider having extra yarn in case of gauge discrepancies.

Needles & Other Supplies:
⦁ One pair of 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, 40 cm (16 in) long. Use the needle size needed to obtain gauge.
⦁ One pair of 3.75 mm (US 5) circular needles, 40 cm (16 in) long or 2 DPNs of the same size for the I-cord cast on and bind off.
⦁ One crochet hook of similar size to the larger needle for provisional cast on.
⦁ Four stitch markers.
