This deeply textured asymmetrical triangle Hessian shawl gets its name from the woven slipped stitch repeating pattern that makes up the main sections. It’s one of my all time favourite stitches.

A contrasting moss stitch / slipped stitch pattern works wonders in a complementary yarn.

Main Colour (MC) – approx 520m fingering weight yarn. Contrast colour (CC) – approx 250m fingering weight yarn.
Sample shows MC – 2 skeins of Eden Cottage Yarns Bowland 4 ply in Misty Woods (100g/400m each) and CC – 1 skein of A Knit Away 4ply sock in Rose Garden (100g/425m each).
