The Hexagon Honeycomb Bee Blanket is a raised asymmetric pattern of hexagons, meant to represent the cells of a honeycomb, accented by whimsical pom-pom/bobble ‘bees’.

THIS IS A FLEXIBLE AND CUSTOMIZABLE PATTERN: You may choose to include or not include the bee element, if you’re looking for a more geometric pattern look. You may also choose to include only one repeat of the hexagon pattern if you prefer only an accent at the top of a plain blanket, or two repeats if you wish to cover your entire blanket in hexagons. Instructions for all of these options are included in the pattern.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate/Advanced. (This pattern involves repeated horizontal chain stitches, which will probably be new to most loop yarn knitters. If you’re looking for something a little easier or want a less subtle look, check out my Easier Hexagon Honeycomb Bee Blanket pattern: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/804905639/pattern-easier-...).

SUGGESTED TOOLS: No needles required (finger knitting). Scissors.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS AND MEASUREMENTS:
- 5 balls of Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ Yarn (6.4oz, 180g) (Image shown is the colour ‘Dijon’). Approximate size 46” x 54” (117cm x 137cm)
-OR-
- 9 balls of Lion Brand Off-the-Hook (3.5 oz/100g (Image shown is the colour ‘Beach Sand’). Approximate size 43” x 51” (109cm x 129.5cm)

PLEASE NOTE: This pattern will work with any brand of loop yarn, but keep in mind that the size of the loops, and size of the balls/skeins of each brand is different.

For smaller loop yarns like Red Heart Loop-It, the number of balls required should be similar to Lion Brand Off-the-Hook, as long as the balls are of a similar size. Alize Puffy Fine (European) yarn will work with this pattern but you will need to determine the quantity needed by comparing the number of yards in your balls.
