What a drag when it’s so cold trick-or-treating that you have to wear a stocking cap or ear warmers under your witch hat to keep warm. Hexenhut is a hexagonal witch hat that starts from the icord top that increases to a six-sided brim. The earflaps can be attached while constructing the hat or after felting if you are concerned which side of the hat will turn out best. The earflaps can also be tucked into the hat when not needed. The hat is worked in a purl swirl pattern to give it a scrappy/seamed up look. Think “vintage Nightmare before Christmas”. Optional furry pom pom spider can be attached with additional pipe cleaner legs (attached at top of pom pom to mold into a humorous fashion. Hat has both instructions for felted and unfelted hat and instructions on how to stiffen both versions.
