This is a pattern for a hiking sock with a thicker heel, sole and toe. It’s knit with two fingering weight sock yarns held together for the heel, sole and toe part and with a single thread on the cuff and on the top of the foot. On the top, the two threads are used alternatingly, so the socks are stiped on top and speckled on the sole, if using two colours.

With the single thread, gauge is 30 st and 42 rows in 10 cm on needles 2.0 - 2.5 mm, with the double thread, gauge is 20 st and 28 rows in 10 cm on needles 3.0 - 3.75 mm.

This pattern is for womens socks size 38/39, but it can easily be adjusted for any size between 22/23 and 50/51 using the chart in the back of the book.
