Hickory Child Hat
by Beryl Westby
Hickory is a basic beanie pattern, knitted with super chunky yarn, using knit & purl stitches and knitted flat, then seamed.
Hickory has a 3” ribbing for a great fit, then the rest of the hat is knit in stockinette stitch with decreasing in the crown for great shape and fit. Decreasing is simple (knit 2 together) style.
Hickory is a great knit for beginners, makers, charity knitters and for quick last minute gifts.
No yarn was specified. Most any U.S. (6) Super Chunky will work for this hat.
One small skein will make this hat unless you are making a super large pom pom (optional) and then you will need extra.
