Hidden Garden Tiles
Flowers of all colors grow hidden away in secret gardens, but you can find them with a little bit of magic involving some yarn and a crochet hook…
This pattern includes 3 different flower tiles, which can be assembled into blankets or other projects. The big octagons with 9 flowers, the small squares with 1 flower, and the half-square triangles which fill the edges of the blanket or such. The flowers themselves are great for using up tiny scrap yarns if you’re looking to create an explosion of colors!
Overall this pattern doesn’t require any special stitches or such, you’ll only be using single, half double and double crochets, chain and slip stitches, but the round where the flowers are joined together can be a bit tricky until you get the hang of it. That’s why there is a lot of progress pics, written instructions AND a chart available, and I suggest you refer to all of them to walk you through the tricky part.
Finished size of the octagon is about 21cm/8.2in from side to side, and the square is about 10cm/3.9in, when made with medium weight wool and 4mm hook.
This 14-page digital PDF contains row-by-row crochet patterns for creating the tiles, and has a lot of progression pics for help. Also contains charts for all tiles.
The PDF is in english and uses US terminology.
