As my first knitted pattern, I wanted to create a sweater that captures the peace found during a walk in the woods and the warmth of a cup of tea held in both hands. This set-in cardigan uses a Polwarth wool and silk blend worsted weight yarn from a local Kitsap County dyer knitted using size US 7 circular needles. The cabling design features straightforward two-stitch cables worked only on the right-side of the garment’s panels. All wrong-side work uses only purl and knit stitches, resulting in a complex-looking but easy-to-knit pattern. The pattern highlights O Knot cabling design with a O Knot ogee centered in the back panel that blends into the stockinette background, creating the illusion of the burles and knit found on evergreen trees in the Pacific Northwest. This sweater and its corresponding size inclusive pattern represent radical body acceptance and an invitation to connect in the present moment with a total of 12 sizes available and corresponding measurements available.
