Light and airy sock with a stunning Japanese stitch pattern. That’s what Hikari Socks are made of.

Hikari Socks are designed for showing off your beautiful lightly speckled or solid yarn. It’s all about knitting and purling, increasing and decreasing, nothing else. Or just one more fun trick: wrapping yarn.

The socks are knit from the toe up. Then you’ll apply the stitch pattern on the top side.

The heel is made with a flap, but you don’t need to pick up any stitches. You’ll just decrease all the extra stitches away.

The pattern is written for 2 different kinds of sock yarn, for heavier (approx. 350 m/100 g, 380 yd/3,5 oz) and lighter (approx. 400-425 m/ 100 g, 437-464/3,5 oz) yarn.

It’s also written for both the magic loop method and DPNs. The magic loop needles are called number 1 and 2. Needle number 1 corresponds to needles I and II in DPNs and needle number 2 needles III and IV in DPNs.

The sizing is simple for both yarns: nice and comfortably loose because of the ribbing. If you have a super slim foot, just take off a couple of sts or with lighter yarn, follow the heavier yarn st numbers.
