This is a super easy and quick to make PDF pattern for a Hippo key ring.
The pattern is written in English and uses U.S terminology.
A basic knowledge of stitches is advised but instructions for special stitches are included.
You can easily substitute the yarn in the pattern for another. If changing ply simply adjust your hook size accordingly. This will however affect the finished size.

20g Stylecraft Squeeze Me DK Chenille 100g / 200 Mtrs / 218 Yds
4mm Crochet hook
or
15g RicoRumi Nilla Nilla DK Chenille 25g / 65 Mtrs / 70Yds
3.5mm Crochet hook

9mm Safety eyes
Sewing needle
Small amount of toy stuffing
Key ring chain

Finished Size:
On a 4mm hook: 6 inches long, 2 ½ inches tall using Stylecraft Squeeze me
On a 3.5mm hook: 5 inches long. 2 inches tall using Ricorumi Nilla Nilla

Abbreviations: US Terminology
MR = Magic Ring
Ch = Chain
St(s) = Stitch(es)
Rnd(s) = Round(s)
Sk = Skip
Slst = Slip Stitch
Sc = Single crochet
Inc = Increase, work 2 sts in same stitch
Dec = Decrease, work 1 stitch over the next 2 sts.
FLOSc3tog = Front Loop Only Single crochet 3 sts together to decrease 2 sts at the same time.
Slst = Slip Stitch
FLO = Front Loop Only
LPOP = Large Popcorn Stitch
BOB = Bobble Stitch
