Update 9/9/2014: I have added a simplified version of this pattern called the Hocus Pocus Scary Easy Tote to the ebook. It can be found in the download options. It is knit using size 7 needles and worsted weight yarn (held single, not double). It does not require any lining or felting and can be done in a weekend or two. Additional information can be found in the pattern.

The perfect alternative to the plastic pumpkin Halloween bucket and classier than a pillow case.

Give yourself plenty of time before Halloween to finish this bag. Finishing work includes felting, sewing, and reinforcing.

Bag requires either super bulky weight yarn or worsted weight yarn held double (how the example was made). It also requires 2” webbing (available at many fabric stores and online) or grosgrain ribbon for straps, 1” grosgrain ribbon to stabilize and fabric for lining.

There are two versions of the pattern for download after you purchase it. One is black and orange squares with thin white graph lines and the other is called the Purple Version and it is orange and light purple with black graph lines. Take a good look at both in digital form and print the one that is easier for you to read.
