A pattern so deceptively simple, yet completely magical that it will make you a star in the eyes of the recipient, all in a couple of hours !

All you need is some yarn in the house colours – red and yellow for Gryffindor, yellow and grey/black for Hufflepuff, blue and grey for Ravenclaw and green and silver grey for Slytherin , and a few hours. Throw in some house badges too…available on Amazon or the Harry Potter gift store. That’s it!

I crocheted it with two yarns of fingering weight held together as I wanted a very warm hat and no holes in between the stitches. It can easily be substituted with worsted yarn held single or even fingering yarn held single. The only difference would be in the thickness and drape of the finished product. With bulky yarn, you may need to reduce the number of stitches , but other than that, it should be fine.
